Fees:

  • $25 per runner​ ($30 race day)
  • $20 SNA Member ($25 race day)
  • $15 per runner (12 and under) ($20 same day)

  • Race day entries will be accepted for DOD Members only.  Non-DOD runners must register by 19 Oct for base access.
  • ​Strollers are welcome.
  • Dogs are welcome. We ask that you respect the other runners by keeping out of their way and towards the back of the pack. We also ask that you are responsible for your pet and clean up after them if required..

Race History

The Newport Chapter of the Surface Navy Association invites you to join us for the 98th running of the SNA 5K By The Bay, a Newport tradition. This semi-annual road race is held on Naval Station Newport and is open to the public. This scenic course winds along the beautiful Narragansett Bay with spectacular views of the Pell/Newport Bridge, Naval War College, Naval Station Newport and Surface Warfare Officers School.

 

  • To the right is the parking information upon arrival at the SNA 5k By The Bay. As always if there are any questions or concerns don't hesitate to contact us at newportsna@gmail.com
  • To Lot 1-Turn west onto Cushing Road, just north of the Fitness Center, to arrive at Lot 1. 
  • -Coming from Gate 1, if you reach the bridge you’ve gone too far. 
  • -Coming from Gate 17, be prepared to turn right at the bottom of the bridge.
  • -Continue walking down Cushing Road, past the start line to arrive at the Check-in area.
  • To Lot 2-Turn west onto Un-named Road, across the street from the Newport Chalet.
  • -Proceed through the stop sign to arrive at Lot 2 on the right.
  • -Walk west, staying on the south side of the building.  Turn north onto Cushing Rd to arrive at the check-in area.
